The combination of the ATN PVS-31 housing and Photonis ECHO P43 tubes is a lightweight, energy-efficient and highly versatile night-vision system that combines the advantages of Photonis signal-processing algorithms with the classic ergonomics of the PVS-31 platform.
The ECHO series is an intermediate class between 4G and ECHO+, offering high light sensitivity, low noise levels and strong performance in mixed-light environments (urban areas, forests, partial moonlight).
It is one of the best non-US alternatives to Gen 3 systems at a significantly lower cost.

Comment / quality level
Photonis ECHO is a well-balanced intensifier tube series offering high stability in mixed-lighting environments.
Key advantages:
• High resistance to bright-light exposure thanks to the Fast-Autogated PSU.
• Better performance in very dark conditions compared to older Photonis SuperGen / XX1441 generations.
• High tolerance to nearby light sources — useful in urban areas, around vehicles, and during movement.
• P43 green phosphor delivers a classic, high-contrast image.
These tubes are frequently chosen by mobile teams and patrol units due to their versatility and durability.
Who it is suitable for
Reconnaissance operators and mobile teams who require a lightweight system with stable performance across lighting transitions.
Units operating in urban or mixed-terrain environments.
Security and patrol units working in populated areas.
Users who want Photonis reliability without paying the premium cost of top-tier 4G models.
Volunteer procurement projects where cost, serviceability and lifespan are critical.
UAV pilots who require stable image behavior under dynamic lighting conditions.
