ARGUS PVS-31 3+ generation is a high-quality night vision device, which implements all the main features and functionality of the prototype.
It is made with USA lenses from PVS 14 and is a mixture of two common devices: L3 AN/PVS-31 and Act in Black DTNVG.
From PVS-31, the device received the housing, all the main functionality and ergonomics, and from DTNVG - the concept of using the most common lenses from PVS-14.
In the design of this model, the housing mounts are shifted back. Due to this, the center of mass is shifted closer to the helmet and there is no need to extend the mounting basket to the maximum, which provides additional convenience.
The plastic from which the housing is made is similar in appearance and tactile sensations to that used in the original PVS-14.
The power button is located above the battery compartment cover. The device is turned on by a long press (about 1.5-2 seconds), and also allows you to configure auto-off when tilting it up onto the Rhino Mount.
Battery compartment for one AA battery (finger, LR6). The battery compartment cover is made of the same plastic as the device itself - in order to reduce weight as much as possible.
On the right side of the case there is a connector for connecting an external power supply. The device is suitable for both the original L3HARRIS Battery Power Supply and units of its production.
The case has the ability to most accurately rebuild the center distance for itself thanks to two screws installed at the junction of the case with the bridge. Adjustment is approximately 4-5 millimeters in each direction. The lenses (front lenses) are installed from PVS-14 and have the same functionality.
The thread for installing the lens is made at a high level.
The Infinity focus lock ring
has a screw for a slotted screwdriver, which allows you to fix them more firmly.
The device has a Dovetail interface for installing a Rhino mount. It also lacks built-in IR illumination and the ability to adjust the brightness.
